| Abstract: | Turning academic research into a reliable and safe product is a tremendous and challenging effort, requiring additional applications of ideas from many areas of computer science. In particular there is a substantial gap to be bridged between the high level cryptographic research papers specifying a protocol and its real-world implementation. In this talk, we discuss the involved challenges and lessons learned from implementing the consensus layer for Cardano. |
