Travel Information

Airport

Baltimore is primarily serviced by the Baltimore-Washington International (BWI) airport, which is about 12.8miles (20km) from the the conference hotel. The BWI airport is connected by all major north american airlines and several international ones. Unless unavoidable, we suggest booking flights through BWI.

To get to the conference venue or the conference hotel, the most convenient option is to directly take a taxi. We recommend using services such as Uber or Lyft as they are cheaper than regular taxi. The expected cost of travel via Uber/Lyft is about $30. Alternatively, a cheaper (but more time consuming option) is to first take a MARC train from the airport to the Penn train station (cost $5), and then take a taxi/uber/lyft to the conference hotel. The Penn Station is about 2miles (3.2km) from the conference hotel. Details about the MARC train from the airport can be found here.

All major car rental companies are also available at the airport.

The other nearby airports include the Regan Washington National (DCA) airport and the Washington Dulles International (IAD). Both of these airports service Washington DC, which is approximately 41 miles (66km) from the conference venue.

Train Stations

Baltimore is well connected to the Northeast region by Amtrak. For example, the travel time between Baltimore Penn Station and New York Penn Station is about 2.5 hours.

If you are traveling from Washington D.C., then you can take the Marc train from the Union Station to the Baltimore Penn Station, which costs $8. From the Penn Station, the conference venue/conference hotel are about 2miles (3.2km), and is most conveniently reached by a taxi/cab. It costs between $5 and $10 on the App based services such as Uber or Lyft.

Buses

Most major bus companies such as Greyhound and BoltBus go through Baltimore. We suggest avoiding Megabus since the stop is somewhat far from the city.
