General Information

Stipends

The Cryptography Research Fund allows us to waive the registration fee for all student presenters of an accepted paper. In addition, a limited number of stipends are available to contribute to the travel costs of students. These funds are allocated to support students from poorer institutions who would otherwise be unable to attend the conference. We particularly encourage applications for stipends from women and other under represented groups. When allocating stipends, preference will be given to these groups.

To apply for a stipend please send an email to the general chair (asiacrypt2015 at gmail dot com) explaining your situation and giving an estimate of the amount of funding you require. Further, ask your supervisor to send an email to the general chair confirming that: (1) you are a student engaged in cryptography research and (2) there is not sufficient funding in your home institution to cover the costs to travel to New Zealand and participate in the conference. The value of a stipend will not be more than the lowest available cost of an advance purchase economy class airfare from your home country to New Zealand. In ideal circumstances your home institution will pay some of the cost of your trip and we will attempt to pay the remaining cost.

The deadline for stipend applications is Sunday October 25, 2015. Decisions will be made soon after that date. The money will be given to students at the conference (receipts for travel costs must be provided).

The stipends are funded, in part, by a donation from Microsoft Research for the specific purpose of sponsoring students or speakers, particularly women.
