Scholarship/Student Jobs, Master in Computer Science, University of Luxembourg
University of Luxembourg is offering a Master program in Computer Science (MICS) taught in English. The program is divided into profiles one of which is Information Security. Tuition is 200 eur/semester. Student job positions are available for the top applicants. Some of the master research projects are described here: https//cryptolux.org/Teaching
Deadline: April 30, 2012 (non-EU candidates) August 15, 2012 (EU candidates)
Research Fellow of Cryptography, University of Tartu, Estonia
We are seeking candidates for a position as Research Fellow of Cryptography at the Institute of Computer Science, University of Tartu (5 years, 01.06.2012 - 31.05.2017).
We expect successful candidates to collaborate with the existing members of our group (Dominique Unruh, Helger Lipmaa, Sven Laur, Bingsheng Zhang). Current interests of our group include (but are not limited to):
- Foundations of cryptography
- Efficient cryptographic protocols
- Quantum cryptography
- Computer-aided verification of cryptography
- Formal methods in cryptography
- Electronic voting
Furthermore, the candidate has to fulfill a light teaching load (2 hours per week).
Ph.D studentship, School of Computing Science, Newcastle University, UK
A PhD studentship is available at the School of Computing Science, Newcastle University, UK. The research will be in the area of security and applied cryptography. Topics include, but are not limited by, authenticated key exchange, electronic voting, digital cash, and anonymous auction etc. It is expected that the student will work on a topic of his/her most interest and expertise, with aim to make an impact on real-world applications.
The studentship will cover the tuition fee, and provide a stipend of £14,790 per year for maintenance. However, the studentship is limited to EU students (otherwise, there will be a gap of tuition fee to fill).
To apply, please send your CV and a brief research proposal to Dr Feng Hao (feng.hao at ncl.ac.uk). The proposal does not need to be perfect (it is OK to look silly and crazy), but it should clearly identify the outstanding security problems that you are keen to solve; the solution to the problem is less important.
PhD student and Postdoc positions, Laboratory of Algorithmics, Cryptography and Security (LACS), University of Luxembourg
