The cryptography group at the Institute of Science and Technology Austria, located in the Vienna woods and headed by Krzysztof Pietrzak, is looking for excellent and highly motivated PhD students and Postdoc researchers. The research topics currently investigated in our group include
  • Cryptocurrencies
  • Leakage-Resilient Cryptography
  • Symmetric Cryptography
  • Computational Entropy (aka Pseudoentropy)
  • Adaptive Security
  • Memory-Hard Functions
Interested PhD students are expected to have a very strong background in mathematics and/or computer science and must apply via the IST Austria graduate school (http://ist.ac.at/graduate-school), the deadline for applications to the graduate school is January 8, 2016.

Postdocs applicants are expected to have a solid publication record in cryptography, including at least some papers in top crypto or TCS conferences like Crypto, Eurocrypt, TCC, FOCS, STOC, ICALP,... and should contact Krzysztof Pietrzak directly ( pietrzak (at) ist.ac.at )
