See http://www.iacr.org/elections/2010/HeliosForCryptographers.html for a brief overview of how the Helios system works.

See http://www.iacr.org/elections/eVoting/ for information on the IACR decision to adopt Helios. The IACR membership meeting has adopted the following motion regarding eVoting.

How To Vote

2010 members of the IACR (generally people who attended an IACR conference or workshop in 2009) should have received a customized invitation to vote from system (at) heliosvoting.org, with a subject line "IACR 2010 Election - Link and Credentials", sent to their email address of record with the IACR. (Members may update their email addresses and other information by visiting https://secure.iacr.org/membership/members/.)

That email message contains the Election URL: http://vote.heliosvoting.org/helios/e/IACR2010, the Election Fingerprint: AKBVANC/m4EuoZ79Ezh1+StureVXMe7TBnkAQvXuP8Q, and in addition a username and password for voting in the elections. (Please notice that the system will only ask for your username and password at the end of the voting process, after you entered all your choices.) Questions about this election may be sent to election2010 (at) iacr.org.

I have been working in applied cryptography since 1995. It's fascinating to observe how our discipline has matured. In the last 15 years we went from two conferences to more than a dozen. It will be my goal to keep the community together and to encourage research across sub-disciplines.
