The candidates for the IACR officers
The candidates for director (vote for no more than three)
Bart Preneel: The IACR is a community with a rich history and a promising future. I had the pleasure to serve on the IACR Board since 1997, the last six years as Vice-President. Based on my track record, I would like to receive your support to serve the IACR as President. Home page, Longer statement.
Josh Benaloh: I’ve served as IACR Secretary, was General Chair of Crypto 2006 (which returned a substantial surplus despite reduction of registration fees by more than 15%), and was the principal author of last year’s ballot resolution which made anonymous submissions into IACR policy. Please vote for me to be IACR Vice-President. Home page, Longer statement.
Ed Dawson: As a Board member from 2000-2001 and 2003-2005 as well as Chair of Asiacrypt Steering Committee from 2001-2004 I have been closely involved with the international expansion of the IACR. If elected I would encourage this development further and the enhancement of IACR as the leading scientific community in cryptology. Home page, Longer statement.
Thomas Shrimpton: I have had the privilege of contributing to and attending IACR conferences and workshops since 2001. Now, I would like to serve our community as secretary of the board. If elected, I will invest significant time and energy into the duties of this position. Please vote for me! Home page.
Helena Handschuh: After having worked towards a strong financial position for IACR during my term as Treasurer, if reelected I will make sure our events become more accessible to PhD students and young researchers.
Christian Cachin: I have served for the IACR since 1998 as Webmaster, creator of the Cryptology ePrint Archive, member of program committees, conference chair, and Director. I want IACR to focus on our publications, to support high-quality research, to continue adding services for our community, and to reach our global membership. Home page, Longer statement.
Tsutomu Matsumoto: If re-elected as a director I would like to continue dedicating myself to careful management of academic integrity of the IACR activities. The experience that I gained as the general chair of the first IACR-sponsored ASIACRYPT and of the first CHES held in Asia will be useful at the society. Home page.
Rei Safavi-Naini: I have been a PC member of IACR conferences and have served on the steering committee of Asiacrypt for a number of years. If elected, I will continue supporting IACR’s mission to promote research in cryptology and to facilitate recognition and communication of excellent research from around the world.
David Naccache: I think that serving the IACR mainly consists in giving a pragmatic helping hand wherever needed. If elected, I also promise to actively resume the habit of giving funny rump session presentations during all my election term years, starting with Eurocrypt 2008's talk entitled "Cryptographic Copy Correction". Zulfikar Ramzan: As a member of the cryptologic community for 10+ years, my career blends theory & practice -- including experience at universities, industry labs, and technology companies. Proposing worthwhile ideas is easy, but implementing them challenging. Leveraging my experience, I will overcome these challenges and effectively serve the IACR membership body. Longer statement.
Ronald Cramer: Besides ubiquitous success in applications, cryptology finds itself at a unique vantage point with its increasingly deep and significant connections with long standing traditions in computer science, mathematics physics and engineering. I will work to assist IACR in furthering cryptology as a top quality and highly relevant international scientific discipline. Home pages here and here.
David Pointcheval: As a regular member of IACR since 1994, I am aware of the importance of this association for promoting cryptography at the international level. I thus intend to work hard towards sustaining the high quality of IACR events and making them more accessible to researchers and students of all nationalities. Home page, Longer statement.
